PGA's ADT Skills Competition Begins!

The 20th annual ADT Skills Challenge, a PGA-sanctioned event, is featured this week with four teams competing in eight skills for a purse of $800,000. Defending champions Nick Price and Mark O'Meara will be back to compete against the teams of Jerry Kelly and Zack Johnson, Rocco Mediate and Nick Faldo and, in a first, the female duo of Annika Sorenstam and Morgan Pressell. Sorenstam and Paula Creamer competed individually in the past, but this will be the first all-female team in ADT Skills history. Additionally, this will be Sorenstam's first professional competition since she retired from golf. This year's format calls for six skills - long drive, mid-iron, bunker shot, chip shot, trouble shot and short iron - along with a "reverse scramble" which will represent the final two challenges. In the reverse scramble, the opposing team will select which shot their rivals will play. This event is known for its unpredictability and for the unprecedented access to the golfers, all of whom will be wearing microphones throughout the competition. This year's event will once again be played at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida.
