Tiger Woods sure didn't look intimated Thursday in the Tour Championship.
Woods kept the ball in play at East Lake and chipped in for one of his six birdies on his way to a 4-under-par 66 that gave him a share of the lead with Justin Rose. It was the first step toward what Woods hopes is another FedEx Cup title, and another $10 million bonus.
Rory McIlroy, playing with Woods for the fifth time in these playoffs, saved par on the last hole for a 69.
The week began with Greg Norman saying that Woods was intimidated by McIlroy, a suggestion that both players found amusing. While it's doubtful that inspired Woods, he played as if he wasn't ready to let McIlroy win a third straight playoff event.

Charles Barkley: I wish I could put some of my blackness in Tiger Woods
Earlier this week, golf legend Greg Norman said he believes one of Tiger Woods’ problems with not being able to close out big tournaments is that he is intimidated by Rory McIlroy. Tiger reacted the way you might expect — by making a joke about it and saying that you don’t have to be afraid of a guy like Ray Lewis popping you in golf because it’s an individual sport. Charlesâ€...

The Great White Shark Greg Norman Comments On Tiger Woods &Rory McIlroy Rivalry
Written By, Clifford
Santa Monica
Greg Norman had an interesting take this morning on the so-called rivalry budding between Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods. He feels, at this point, that Tiger is intimidated by Rory—a contention a bit strong, but not entirely baseless, in my humble opinion.  Ever since 2010 when attempts at resurrecting his game began in earnest, Tiger would begin...
Tiger downplays Norman's assessment
Predictably, Tiger Woods resorted to humor to defuse Greg Norman's bombshell assertion that he's "really intimidated" by Rory McIlroy.
And neither did it serve McIlroy to weigh in too earnestly on what is a sensitive subject for a young man who's both growing closer to, and rapidly eclipsing, his boyhood idol.
Woods was quick to greet golf's crown prince...
