Rob Carr/Getty ImagesThough Tiger Woods hasn’t won a major, people have gotta give the guy props for three victories this year. That’s a pretty good season for any professional golfer, if you ask me. For Woods, he’s starting to get the hang of things as he beat out Bo Van Pelt to capture his third victory at Congressional during this year’s AT&T National Tournament.

This is Woods’ second win of this month and went into a battle with Van Pelt in the back-nine, which made the fans more excited than ever after missing out Saturday due to storms.

“Yesterday was a silent day,” Woods said. “I think everyone saved up for today. What an atmosphere to play in front of.”

Woods finished 2-under and did well at the course that gave him troubles last year in the US Open. Woods made it look so easy that he went 41 straight holes with hitting a single bogey. He was on fire for the whole tournament as he now passes Jack Nicklaus for second all-time on the most PGA Tour wins with 74. He only trails Sam Snead, who holds 82.

Woods is now in position to reclaim the No. 1 player ranking with only two majors remaining. Van Pelt has his vote for Tiger.

“I think he’s the only guy to win three tournaments on tour this year, is that correct?” he said. “On three different golf courses. And he was leading the U.S. Open after two days. So I’d say that he’s playing the best golf in the world right now.”

Congrats on the win, Tiger! Hopefully he can keep up the solid play.

Tiger Woods is As Good As Ever, But Don't Expect the Same Dominance of Old

Tiger Woods is as good as he ever was, but he’ll never be as good as he once was. Woods is the victim of himself -- through no fault of his own. Tiger Woods Is More Popular Than Nick Watney, or Just Really Good at Getting High TV Ratings

While the golf world likes to pretend it's better off in the days of post-Tiger Woods dominance, the facts say otherwise.
