David Toms has rebounded quickly from his playoff loss last weekend. Toms shot a bogey-free 8-under 62 on Thursday in the first round of the Colonial. The round comes four days after Toms lost a playoff at The Players Championship. It was Toms' best score in 429 rounds - since his career-best 61 at the Sony Open in Hawaii in 2006. That was the last of his 12 PGA Tour victories. After forcing a playoff with K.J. Choi last weekend at The Players Championship with a rare birdie at the 18th hole, Toms missed a short par putt at the famed No. 17 island hole, the first extra hole. Toms says the opening round at the Colonial certainly helps him get past how last week's tournament ended.
