The Open de Espana is this week's stop on the European Tour. First played in 1912, this tournament was part of the inaugural season of the European Tour in 1972, and has been included on the Tour schedule every year since. As such, it has a rich history and a list of winners to rival any tournament on Tour. Previous champions have included Arnold Palmer, Sir Nick Faldo, Colin Montgomerie, Padraig Harrington, Sergio Garcia and, of course, the late Seve Ballesteros, who won the championship three times and finished second three times. Last year, Italy's Francesco Mollinari added his name to the list of champions with a stellar final round 65, erasing a four-shot deficit to claim a three-shot victory. It was Molinari's third title on the European Tour and moved him back into the top 30 of the World Rankings. This year, expect another stellar field as the tournament returns to Parador de El Saler located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. FOX Sports will showcase live, four-round coverage.
