PLAYERS: Jarrod Lyle

Professional Golfer Jarrod Lyle suffered with. leukemia at age 17. He was able to beat it then, and now he has beat it again. Lyle discovered his cancer had returned in March 2012, after the birth of his first child. He would be forced to leave the tour and seek medical treatments. Part of his treatment was to receive a transplant of donor blood from umbilical cords. Yes, it was these as well as chemotherapy that helped Lyle beat his cancer for the second time in his life. At 31-years-old Lyle was told by his doctors that his body was clear of the disease. That is great news for the Australian, who will make his return to professional golf at the Australian Masters at Royal Melbourne Golf Club from Nov. 14-17. Lyle has hope of returning to the PGA tour for the 2014 season. It is great to see this story came to a pleasant end. So many times we hear a different ending and for Lyle and his new-born child, the news could be any better. Lets hope this has a long-lasting effect and Lyle will be able to enjoy his career and young family for years to come. I for one hope he does will in November….
