[Editor's note: Greg Vara is on-site for Devil Ball at the 3M Championship.] BLAINE, Minn. -- On Day Two at the 3M Championship,
the cream rose to the top and the galleries grew deeper.
As expected, those galleries started to gather around the leaders,
with one exception: Arnold Palmer.
He hasn't played competitive
golf in years, but the draw of Arnold Palmer is alive and well as witnessed
by the hundreds of fans following his group Saturday afternoon. Normally
this wouldn't be of note, but considering that Arnie and his group
are participating in an exhibition, it certainly catches your eye.
As I stood once again on my
perch outside the eighth green, a tricky 204 yard par-3, I tried to guess
which players were coming through by the size of their galleries. When
the first groups came through, the numbers were small, as we got closer
to the leaders, the numbers picked up. But no one competing in the 3M
Championship this week could match the King's galle...
