High School Miler Named USA Track & Field's Athlete of the Week
Riverbank High School senior, German Fernandez won both the 1600 and 3200 meter events at the California Interscholastic Federation State Track and Field Championships in Cerritos, Calif. Fernandez broke Ryan Hall's CIF record for the 1600 (4:02.62) running 4 minutes 00.29 seconds. Fernandez also set a new national and state standard for the 2 mile with his record breaking 8:34.23.
