I have to admit that I have never seen a commercial for a high school hockey game.  Then again, hockey doesn’t get the natural publicity that high school hoops and football does, so players need to promote themselves to get others besides their immediate family at games.  Clarkston (MI) High School, about 40 minutes from Detroit, shot a pretty entertaining commercial to promote their Jan. 26 game against rival Lake Orion.

Yes, the game has been over for weeks and yes, the kid in the video is wearing a St. Louis Blues jersey (why? I don’t know), but this is very well done.

Browns incumbent QB to Johnny Manziel: Bring it on

I’m not sure if this is a challenge to Johnny Manziel, or just a guy who wants to help the former Heisman winner learn the NFL game. Before the draft started, Browns coach Mike Pettine said it would be difficult for anyone in the draft class to beat out Brian Hoyer for the starting quarterback job.   Hoyer showed tremendous potential before missing the remainder of last season...

Elgin Baylor on Donald Sterling: Justice is served

Former Clippers general manager Elgin Baylor left the team and sued the Clippers, claiming he was discriminated against based on his race and his age. This despite the fact, many NBA fans noted, Baylor had failed to build anything resembling a quality team in Los Angeles. Quite possibly, he was hampered by an owner who could care less if his team won. Baylor lost his lawsuit, but...

Ex-wrestler gets 26 years in jail for molesting daughter

Via YouTube If you’re a wrestling fan and don’t remember ‘Rock N’ Roll’ Buck Zumhofe, don’t feel bad. At his best he was a 3-time AWA World Light Heavyweight Champion and a 2-time tag team champion in World Class, but he’s probably best known to modern fans as the guy Triple H faced in his WWE debut, or as one of the guys Yokozuna sat on in the early 90s. What you...

Kobe talks about Mike D'Antoni leaving the Lakers

As usual grumpy fashion, Kobe Bryant speaks on the resignation of Los Angeles Lakers’ head coach, Mike D’Antoni, saying that he “didn’t care”. Kobe has become Clint Eastwood from Gran Torino. GET OFF MY LAWN! “Honestly I didn’t care,” Bryant said Thursday during a guest appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” when asked by Kimmel if he was “happy” that D’Antoni...

Jerry Jones talks about why the Cowboys passed on Manziel

The Dallas Cowboys were a bit of a sleeper destination for Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel leading up to the 2014 NFL Draft. But Manziel was there when the Cowboys were on the clock with the 16th pick in the first round on Thursday night, and they passed on him. Dallas owner Jerry Jones was blunt when asked why he didn’t take Johnny Football: Tony Romo is better. Jones claimed...

As expected, Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater fell big time on draft night. The Minnesota Vikings finally selected him at No. 32 after trading back into the first round. Browns owner: Homeless guy convinced me to draft Manziel

What if I told you that a homeless person is the reason the Cleveland Browns selected Johnny Manziel? Would you believe it? Well that’s the story ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio was selling to viewers. After the Browns traded up four spots to take Manziel at No. 22 overall in the draft, Paolantonio shared a story about […]

Willie McGinest: Patriots made the word ‘team’ sexy in the NFL

FOXBORO, Mass. — Before 2002, Super Bowl teams typically introduced their players one by one, letting each player jog out of the tunnel individually while fans cheered. The New England Patriots changed all that. The Patriots chose to be introduced as a team that day, and after their 20-17 victory over the St. Louis Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI, a legend was born. The legend said that...
