With the passing of each monotonous day during his recovery and each painful exercise during his rehabilitation, Vitor Meira's focus barely wavered.   He wanted to "add to the team" though not behind the wheel, with the goal sustained by determination and buoyed by multiple layers of support and encouragement. That - more than the pain of the injury or the sting of a sideswiped 2009 season - drives Meira into the start of the IZOD IndyCar Series calendar. "A.J. Foyt, Larry Foyt and the whole ABC Supply crew was very supportive," says Meira, who is fully recovered from broken vertebrae suffered in a Lap 174 crash in the Indianapolis 500 that curtailed his 2009 season.
