Rivalry Renewed: TheJman v The Pretty Boy Rd 2

What's going on YB? Hope everyone's had a good week. I'm sure we're all ready for the weekend. I know I am, been a lot going on here. So last weekend was no doubt the worst Pick'em week I've had, a despicable 2-5, and the JV boys took a hard one on the chin from Plano West on Sunday.

Young players, please read this carefully: Custom gloves, team apparel and shiny uniforms won't make one team better than another. If you go into a game with the mindset that you're just hoping to make it through, don't even put the helmet on because you've already lost. Did Rocky have the flash and flair that Apollo did? No, and I think we all know how that one turned out. (Well in the second one I guess)

But its ok, the boys played great last night, shutting out Westwood in the 4th quarter and putting in 4 straight goals to win 8-7!! Great job guys!

**On a side note: if you're interested in getting custom apparel and performance wear for you team (like Plano West), you can contact me at jason@njssports.com.**

But enough of about that, its rivalry week and the Jman has got a few rivalry bones of his own to pick.

So for those who didn't know, Inside Lacrosse was gracious enough to invite the Jman to be a special guest on the Weekly Staff Pick 'Em last week. A sincere Thank you to the boys at IL

Besides Mikey Culver (4-3), just about everyone took a beating going under .500. Well I think we have all seen that Terry "The Pretty Boy" Foy has been well off the mark all season. So this week, The Pretty Boy is looking to pass the buck on his sub par performance to the Jman.

Sorry P/B, I'm sitting at 26-19 right now and 32-20 overall, putting me right up there with Brand, Burnsie and Sweeney, and well within striking distance of Culver. I have to applaud your UNC pick last week, but you see when you're actually in the hunt you have to make the smart decisions and can't just throw away picks on hopeful flukes. It's ok Terry, I know you're just irritated with the way your season has gone, but you can't let frustration fouls put you in a man down situation (A throw back to "Pinch'in and Popp'in, nod your way Mr. Keegan)

And once again the Jman pulls ahead!

TheJman - 4

Pretty Boy - 3

So let's get to the games:

Bucknell v Army

Both teams have been playing well as of late. But Army's wins over Hofstra/Rutgers and the close loss to Syracuse are a little more impressive than the Bison's win over Towson and Ohio State.

Edge Army

Navy v Maryland

I wish I could pick the Mids in this one, but I have just been too impressed with the Terps youth right now.

Edge: Maryland

Lehigh v Colgate

Despite Colgate's recent losing streak, the most quality win that Lehigh has had this season was against Villanova.

Edge: Colgate

Notre Dame v Denver

Despite the rankings I think that this one could go either way. It will be decided by who can play their game. Notre Dame wants order, Denver wants Chaos. Denver has to stay out of the penalty box.

Edge: Notre Dame

Princeton v Syracuse

The Orange have played great so far and Princeton has rebounded from the 2 goal showing against the Danes. Game tempo will decide the winner.

Edge: Syracuse

Virginia v North Carolina

There is a reason that UNC struggled against Maryland and Duke. The attack couldn't get into the game and they forced the middies to have to carry the scoring load. Dom and the boys will be looking to exploit that and get out of Chapel Hill with a win.

Edge: Virginia

Hopkins v Duke

Duke jumps all over the Jays, Rabil falls out of the hunt for a Tewaaraton and probably the NCAA tourney.

Edge: Duke

So there you have it, hoping for a much better weekend and to make up some ground on the leaders. The Jman and the big dog are going to have a boy's night in tonight and catch the Navy v Maryland game. JV travels to cross town rival Westlake Sunday hoping to continue the district winning streak.

Have a safe weekend and I'll see you on the field.
