Found November 13, 2008 on Twins Territory:

Justin Morneau and Joe Mauer today continued to pull in the awards as both were honored with their second career Silver Slugger awards. The awards are given to the best hitters in each league at each position, and the winners are determined by a vote from the coaches and managers.

Both Morneau and Mauer won the award at their position back in 2006 when the Twins staged their amazing season comeback, so this is the second for each.

Mauer has now won a Gold Glove, AL Batting Title, the Legacy Award, and a Silver Slugger this off-season while Morneau has won the NLBM Player of the Year award and the Silver Slugger. Morneau is also thought to be one of the front-runners for the AL MVP which will be handed out next week.

The other winners in the American League were:

AMERICAN LEAGUE Catcher:Joe Mauer, Twins
First base:Justin Morneau, Twins
Second base:Dustin Pedroia, Red Sox
Third base: Alex Rodriguez, Yankees
Shortstop:Derek Jeter, Yankees
Outfield: Josh Hamilton, Rangers
Outfield:Carlos Quentin, White Sox
Outfield:Grady Sizemore, Indians
Designated hitter: Aubrey Huff, Orioles

While I'm happy to report they have not only put Baltimore back on the away uniforms, they have also added a Baltimore sleeve patch to their home and alternate uniforms. I'm glad to see this change. When you have 11 losing seasons, you should try to placate your fans in whatever way you can. But hopefully, these new uniforms...

Aubrey Huff won a Silver Slugger Award yesterday. And while that's not a euphemism, Huff does kind of make a Silver Slugger sound vaguely lewd.
