  • naw. the Phillies in 3rd in the NL East get real the Braves roster is older than dirt specially their pitching. Also im so sick of hearing how good the Mets are going to be because they got Santana. People he is one pitcher its not as if they went out and got Pujols or someone who is going to play day in and day out he will only pitch every 4th day. Not to mention he has spent his career in Minnesota's dome and now has to pitch in homer friendly Citizens Bank Park. I look for Santana to do well but not well enough to take the Mets to the NL East title. Phillies first, Mets second Braves third.
  • Come on - now I know your a bit biased being a philly fan but are you honestly going to tell me that if the Mets stay healthy they are not the best team in the NL east?
Also, I put together predictions but should have put predicted wins because I actually have the Braves / Mets and Phillies in a right race - so based on my projections any of those 3 teams could win the league and / or make the wild card. To me it is that close of a race.
  • I'll combat that, phillyfannaz, with the view that the Phillies' starting rotation is two deep. Now if I remember anything from last year, the Braves' rotation was two deep. You can't have long term success with a two man rotation and a struggling closer. It won't last all season. I don't care what kind of offense you have.

The Mets have old injury problems they'll deal with all year. I agree that the Santana acquisition has been overhyped. He only pitches once every five days. The Mets' rotation is looking good, even past Santana.

The Braves do have some injury concerns, but we have balance that I don't think either the Mets or Phillies have. We'll see how it unfolds, but there's no way you can tell me it's a two-team race. The Braves will make the playoffs this year.
  • Go Phils!!!
  • WAKE UP!!
  • Everyone knows the O's are the best team in the majors.
  • Bottomline when it comes to divsions, simply based on mojo-- the reigning division champ is the team to beat. It is simple, but also look at this: The Phillies won their last 8 games against the lowly Mets. They won games in crunch-time with big-time plays from all players, from Rollins to Ruiz even.

Yes, the Mets have better pitching, but the sheer run-scoring machine that plays at Citizens Bank field carries that park's air with them. They score runs, regardless the pitcher.

It will be a long year. Both teams will lead the division at some point. Both teams will battle injury and play crazy games against each other. But the Phils will pull through in the end.
  • The Dodger's...first in the NL west? Dude, you've been blasting power bongs.
  • You are you thinking will take the west? Let me guess the trendy pick of the Padres? 2 words for them OVER RATED. Or are telling me the Rockies and/or diamondbacks are better then the Dodgers? Come on.
  • There's no way the Brewers finish 5th in the central... They'll contend, but won't make the playoffs.
  • Good thing these are only predictions...Go Phillies!!!!
  • Amen.
  • This one is better
