Offseason Movement: Perhaps the Nats’ biggest addition was 1B/OF Adam Dunn, who will add some pop to the lineup, as well as a fair amount of strikeouts. Washington also acquired OF Josh Willingham and LHP Scott Olsen in a trade with the Marlins and signed free agents Daniel Cabrera, Alex Cintron and Javier Valentin. In the deal to land Willingham and Olsen, the Nationals agreed to send 2B Emilio Bonifaci, INF Jake Smolinski and RHP P.J. Dean to Florida. Top Prospect: Jordan Zimmerman, RHP Zimmermann is a serious Rookie of the Year candidate and is turning in a fantastic spring. As of this writing, he has allowed only six hits, two walks and has struck out 16 batters over 12 1/3 scoreless innings. He seems to be over shadowed on a national level, but that’s mostly because the Nationals have yet to officially hand him a spot in the starting rotation. But that should change soon and as long as he doesn’t let the bright lights of the Big Leagues eat him alive, the 22-year old ...

Second Half Predictions for the 2008 MLB Season

The fine people of Juiced Sports take their hacks at how the second half might play out. And when I say hacks, think Adam Dunn swinging, because these picks are all over the place! Conservatives be damned There is one week left in the first half of the season in MLB, although, who are we kidding, they passed the 81 game mark about a week ago. Nevertheless, because JSB is so daring...

Adam Dunn Keeps His Cool

Man, Adam Dunn is a production machine! I sure hope his consistency maintains throughout the regular season. He and Joel Hanrahan are frankly my only reason to pay much attention to the WBC. He apparently cracks his teammates up and also knows when to keep his cool. Last night’s game against the Netherlands was not [...]

The Right Field Stands at Nats Park are Dunn-Zo

(by Kevin O'Brien) Let's just say, I'm excited to have Adam Dunn on the 2009 Washington Nationals. Hopefully, the team can be competitive so he's not a part of numerous trade rumors during the mid-summer trade deadline.

Listen to the new Nationals Pridecast

(by Ian Koski) Mike, Jeff and I recorded a new podcast on Wednesday night while watching the Nats-Marlins game. In this week's (month's?) episode of the Pridecast, we look at what effect Jim Bowden's resignation has had on the Nationals and the league. We look at his last big deal -- the signing of Adam Dunn -- and how the Nats' outfielder-rich lineup is shaking out. And more!

MASN Tonight! Be There!

Tonight on MASN - the Florida Marlins take on the Washington Nationals with former Marlin, Scott Olsen the slated starting pitcher. Tonight will provide Nats fans with the first opportunity to hear new broadcaster Rob Dibble in the Nationals booth. Can’t wait!! Plus, remember the previous marketing campaigns targeting opponents? Or the lady sitting in [...]

It's the most wonderful time of the year

Spent the better part of the past three days in upstate New York, where it is still snowing by the way. Got home and found that two fantasy baseball teams had been birthed while I was gone. Both were top-heavy in closers and had outfields reminiscent of the late 70s Indians with Rick Manning, Johnny Grubb, Ron Pruitt, Jim Norris and Horace Speed. (Raise your hand if you were...

An interview with Tom Tango

We take a short break from our faux interviews of one another to bring you an actual real interview. Tom Tango who co-wrote The Book and writes on the site Inside the Book has answered many of the questions that Pmayo and I put together. I'd like to thank Tom for taking some of his time to answer the questions of a couple of idiots. Thanks a lot. ACB: We've discussed...

An International Incident Averted: World Baseball Classic Game Three -- Photos & Reflections

I got tickets in the outfield, and figured that I'd move around since the stadium was practically empty; however, I stayed in my area since I enjoyed the company was with and saw the United States defeat the upstart Netherlands squad, 9-3. They avoided a potentially embrassing situation as Jimmy Rollins hit a homer and drove in four; Brian Roberts went 3-for-3 with two walks...
