The second base position is a tricky one for the 2011 season. On paper, the position looks to be about 1o deep, however, things get sketchy outside of the top 2. Robinson Cano and Chase Utley are the cream of the crop and should be taken without hesitation. Cano is a stud and is a legit first round pick. Utley is right up there with him. After them, things get dicey and a mix of injuries/bust potential round out the top 10. What looks like a decent selection could blow up or vice versa.
I am extremely nervous about Dustin Pedroia as he is still not 100% recovered from the fractured foot he suffered in 2010. Proceed with caution on draft day.
