The ranking of each position in the NL East from the 2011 season continues today with the only spot remaining in the infield yet to be analyzed- the shortstops.Stats- AVG/OPS, Runs, Doubles, Triple, and Homeruns or Extra Base Hits, Runs Batted In, Stolen Bases, and Offensive Wins Above Replacement.2011 NL East Shortstop Rankings:1. Jose Reyes/Mets .337/.877, 101 R, 31 DBL, 16 TRPL, 7 HR, 44 RBI, 39 SB, 6.2 OWAR. 2. Jimmy Rollins/Phillies .268/.736, 87 R, 22 DBL, 16 HR, 63 RBI, 30 SB, 3.0 OWAR.3. Hanley Ramirez/Marlins .243/.712, 55 R, 26 XBH, 45 RBI, 20 SB, 1.3 OWAR.4. Alex Gonzalez/Braves .241/.642, 59 R, 27 DBL, 15 HR, 56 RBI, 0.2 OWAR. 5. Ian Desmond/Nationals .253/.656, 65 R, 40 XBH, 49 RBI, 25 SB, 1.6 OWAR.Notes- Reyes is an injury risk, but there is no mistaking his game changing ability when he's on the field. He moves to Miami now with Han-Ram scooting over to 3rd base. Ramirez was a poor defender at SS, so the switch to 3rd might actually help him in regards to range....
