This post is dedicated to the capture and eventual death of Libyan Dictator Moammar Gadhafi. Is there anyway Obama can get credit for this? Moving on. Those dirty, lucky Cardinals squeaked out a victory over the Rangers in Game 1 of the World Series. Of course they got a little help from the umpire. Check it out. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ED96gIzalg The ball was clearly fouled off of Beltre’s foot. I don’t know how the umpire missed this call. And before you say he acted, there is no way he could’ve reacted that quickly unless the ball actually hit his foot. Somewhere MLB Commissioner, Bud Selig, is reviewing MLB’s argument against instant replay. Check us out on Facebook, Hair of the Dog Sports Blog. Follow me on Twitter @coldy4goldy.

The Rangers are Sitting Ducks: RIP Claw and Antlers?)

Do the Duck? The first rule of the Texas Rangers' "sitting duck" gesture, is that you do not talk about it. What happens in the clubhouse, stays in the clubhouse, I guess. Yes, this is what I've found compelling as the World Series opens with the Rangers in St. Louis tonight. Hand. Gestures. We'll leave that to you to ascertain what that means in terms of my...

Cardinals take 1-0 World Series lead

Pinch hitter Allen Craig delivered the go-ahead single and the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the visiting Texas Rangers 3-2 in Game 1 of the World Series on Wednesday night. World Series Heads to Arlington All Tied Up After Rangers' Ninth Inning Rally

Down to their last three outs and facing another World Series loss, the Texas Rangers hooked up some smart base-running and timely hitting to tie the series at a game a-piece with a 2-1 win over the St. Louis Cardinals Thursday night. Allen Craig once again hit the go-ahead single, this time in the seventh, to give the Cardinals a one-run lead that lasted a whole inning. We totally...

Mike Napoli Isn’t Done Shaping The 2011 Season

As far as team sports go, baseball is a bit odd. Unlike the constant motion sports like hockey and basketball and soccer, baseball is incredibly granular, with each event taking part in its own discrete space. The only major team sport (at least in America) that shares this granularity is football, but even football shares more with the aforementioned three than it does with baseball...

Notebook: Andrus flashes leather in Game 2

Elvis Andrus ranged as far as he could to his left, diving at the edge of the infield grass behind second base, and snared the hard grounder off the bat of Rafael Furcal.

Burwell: Reading between the lines on Pujols

Albert Pujols won't talk about his future, but it's hard not to seek clues in his remarks

Berkman Clears Air on Comments

The comments are old news by now. Back in January, on a Houston radio show, New Braunfels native and former Astros great Lance Berkman made some disparaging remarks about the defending AL champion Texas Rangers. When asked why he chose to sign with the St. Louis Cardinals in the off-season instead of the Rangers after an unsuccessful stint with the New York Yankees, Berkman fired...
