There were more games than most Thursday's last night, but it remained a rather uneventful evening. The biggest news may be that Aroldis Chapman will not go the whole season without giving up a run. The Reds lefty finally gave up an earned run in his 30th inning of work this season, raising his ERA to 0.30. It was one of those nights when you could get concerned when you looked at the runs your starting pitcher gave up, until you check the earned run category because a few studs did not get help from their defense. Matt Cain could have been on his way to a shutout, but instead gave up three unearned runs in seven innings. At first glance C.C. Sabathia gave up five runs in seven innings, but just three were earned for a quality start. Jake Peavy gave up two earned runs along with one unearned in six innings. Clay Bucholz didn't give up a run, earned or not, while tossing a shutout and R.A. Dickey tossed seven scoreless innings. Brandon McCarthy gave up just one run in seven innings. Yu Darvish
