The Fantasy Fix:
St. Louis Cardinals
Shelby Miller continued his hot start Monday night by shutting down the Washington Nationals with eight strikeouts and only two runs over 6.2 innings. Miller gave up only four hits and walked two, and even though his ERA went up to 2.16 we can take away nothing but positives from his third stellar start in a row. He’s now shut down the Brewers and Nationals and has a 26:7 K:BB in 25 innings. He’s putting 46 percent of balls in play on the ground, and his FIP and xFIP back up his sparkly ERA. Miller’s matchup-proof so start him against anyone.

Didi Gregorius has gotten off to a nice start after being activated from the DL last Tuesday. He’s hit in all four games he’s played and has multiple hits in three of those games. He went yard in his first at-bat of the season, and hit another homer in his third game. Before you get too excited over Gregorius, just know that his home runs came at Yankee Stadium and Coors Field. Hit Tracker Online tells us Gregor...

Through the first three weeks of the 2013 Major League Baseball season, the St. Louis Cardinals have discovered some young talent in their pitching rotation. Shelby Miller, who had to fight his way into the rotation during spring training, has looked borderline dominant in his first four starts. The rookie hurler might be establishing an early case for the Rookie Of The Year Award...
With the Cardinals closer questions apparently being answered by Edward Mujica, who has converted all 3 of his save chances, the Cards are still looking to shore up the rest of their bullpen.
As of today, the Cardinals have a bullpen ERA of 5.37, last in the majors. Most of this can be attributed to Mitchell Boggs, who struggled when placed in the closer role and has yet to sort...
Let's play 'Choose Your Own Column':
The Cardinals headed into Washington D.C. to face the Nationals, the same team they RUINED in the Divisional series in 2012.
Are you A) surprised, almost taken aback, that the Cardinals went in and dominated a very, very good baseball team on the heels of what looked like a complete bullpen implosion.
Yadier Molina drove in the go-ahead run in the sixth inning, backing Shelby Miller's strong start Monday night, and the St. Louis Cardinals returned to the site of their Game 5 NL division series victory last season with a 3-2 victory over the Washington Nationals.
The other big hit for St. Louis was Allen Craig's two-run double in the third.
Miller (3-1) struck out eight...
So far in 2013, St. Louis Cardinals' ace Adam Wainwright is showing that he is worth every penny of the five-year, $97.5 million general manager John Mozeliak gave him late this spring. Wainwright won again on Tuesday night, pitching into the ninth inning for the second time this year in the Cardinals' 2-0 win over the Washington Nationals.
Wainwright is now 4-1 on the young...
St. Louis Cardinals right-hander Adam Wainwright has walked a batter for the first time this season, issuing a free pass to Washington Nationals left fielder Bryce Harper.
The walk came with two outs in the sixth inning Tuesday night, in Wainwright's fifth start. He went 34 2-3 innings before throwing four balls to a batter.
Citing the Elias Sports Bureau, the Cardinals said...
Bob Dylan has been on his Never-Ending Tour for multiple decades now. One of the music legend’s summer staples is holding concerts in baseball stadiums. Here in 2013, Dylan is at it again, with St. Louis Cardinals affiliates playing a leading role.
Wilco, My Morning Jacket and The Richard Thompson Electric Trio will join Dylan on a 26-date tour beginning on June 26 in West Palm...
Adam Wainwright extended his sterling start to the season -- and Washington's mediocre one -- by coming within two outs of his second shutout, leading the St. Louis Cardinals past the Nationals 2-0 Tuesday night.
The right-hander (4-1) lowered his ERA to 1.93 by going 8 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing only five hits.
Edward Mujica got the final two outs for his third save....

On April 23, 1999, then-St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Fernando Tatis smacked a record two, count 'em, two grand slams off Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Chan Ho Park in the same inning.
Now, fourteen years later, Tatis has taken to Twitter to smack talk the Korean hurler.
Now, I don't want to be this guy...but I will. Sure, on that day, Tatis might've...
Earlier this month, just as the Pacific Coast League regular season schedule was getting underway, a flurry of articles appeared. Led by the Wall Street Journal, reports of a potential breakthrough in resolving the ongoing unsettled financial status of the Memphis Redbirds and AutoZone Park caused considerable excitement.
The St. Louis Cardinals had re-engaged in negotiations to...
It makes most sense to start with Adam Wainwright when examining results thus far. I must admit, I was left scratching my head a little bit when Wainwright’s extension was announced… it seemed a year or two too long, and last year was good but not great. But all doubts have been silenced with his start to the 2013 season. It already looks like his teammates will be hard pressed...

The St. Louis Cardinals just finished off a sweep of the Washington Nationals, and currently stand at the top of the NL Central with a 13-8 record. At 4.9 runs per game, they’re fourth in the NL in offensive production, which is one of the primary reasons they have outscored their opponents by 27 runs so far. (The other main reason is Adam Wainwright.)
Now, though, here’s a...
Following impressive wins in their respective road series, the St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates appear to be playing with some confidence as they open a three-game set.
Right-hander Lance Lynn will try to build on an outstanding performance and pitch the Cardinals to a fourth straight win Friday night when they host the Pirates, who are also trying to extend their win...
