Remember the days when you didn’t have to dive into BABIP, ISO and K% to evaluate talent. Well, if you don’t, there was a day not too long ago when looking at batting average, HRs, and RBI in a section of the sports page (in a thing called a newspaper) is where you went to find the talent. Feeling nostalgic? Well, here’s some of the PCL’s League Leaders, mixed with some new school numbers and fantasy thoughts. In addition to his PCL leading average, Dickerson was slugging .646 (also PCL leading), with nine home runs, 19 doubles, 13 triples and 38 RBI. If you exclude Dickerson because he is now in the majors, D-Backs shortstop, Chris Owings, is next in line with a .360 batting average. Fantasy Impact: Dickerson could see extending playing time in Colorado with OF Dexter Fowler dealing with a finger injury. Of course his minor league numbers were inflated pla...

Starting pitching catching up with Colorado Rockies

Jon Garland Despite the injuries to their biggest offensive weapon, the greater concern in Denver is their bullpen; a bullpen that has seen extensive work this season. As good as those two are, the Colorado Rockies have a duo that can match up in outfielder Carlos Gonzalez and shortstop Troy Tulowitzki. Luckily for the Sox pitchers, they won’t...
