Game 14: Red Sox win 6-3
The Red Sox got to Justin Masterson early and Alfredo Aceves pitched well enough to give another win to Boston. The Red Sox also flashed some leather to keep some Cleveland runs from scoring, and Mike Carp's first start went very well, as he hit two doubles and a triple. Here are the four at bats that changed the game:
1) Top of the first inning, and the Red Sox strike early. Hot hitting Mike Napoli steps up with the bases loaded on two singles and a hit by pitch, and he connects on a two run single to put the Red Sox ahead 2-0. Daninel Nava then adds to the damage with a single of his own to score Dustin Pedroia and the Red Sox go up 3-0 without recording an out.
2) Top of the forth inning, and Stephen Drew works a two out walk. What does everyone say about walks? They lead to free runs. Mike Carp pops a triple off the center field wall to score Drew and put the Red Sox up 4-0.
