Player of the Game Cody Allen pitched the best game of his young career as he threw two innings and only allowed two baserunners. He was even able to get one of those runners out on the bases with a double play as he was the only Indians pitcher to keep the Twins from scoring. His game score of 1.78 gives him an average Player of the Game score of 1.29 for the season, the best of any Indians reliever. Feathers Up Options: Chris Seddon, David Huff, Jeanmar Gomez, Corey Kluber and Eric Berger. If Josh Tomlin makes one more start it will be too many. Travis Hafner broke up Scott Diamond's perfect game with two outs in the fifth with an opposite field single. This should actually be a feathers down as Scott Diamond was throwing a perfect game through 5.2 innings, but I worded it differently. Hafner also had the Indians third hit, an infield single off that hit Diamond. In this topsy turvy world the Cleveland Indians have the ability to make Scott Diamond look like Ju...

Indians Announcer Says Racist Remark During Game

Cleveland Indians television analyst Rick Manning may want to think the next time he tries to make a clever remark. Shin-Soo Choo hit a double last night of the center field wall that barely missed leaving the park and Manning comes up with this gem. I wouldn't have expected anything less from the team that still has Chief Wahoo as its mascot. First of all, he got the ethnicity...

Tigers 5 Indians 3: Offense Doesn’t Show, Neither Does Lowe

With the looming return of Roberto Hernandez, it would behoove the Indians two back end starters – Josh Tomlin and Derek Lowe – to start pitching better. One of them is going to lose their job, if not both of them. When asked after the game about his starting pitching issues, Manager Manny Acta told the media “Of course we need pitching help. Everyone knows that. It’s a...

Indians GM seeking help for club as deadline nears

Indians general manager Chris Antonetti is seeking help for his third-place team. Antonetti said Thursday he is involved in plenty of discussions, which is typical for the approaching July 31 trade deadline. He wouldn't categorize the Indians, four games out in the AL Central, as either buyers or sellers at this point. A year ago, with Cleveland 2 1/2 games behind, Antonetti...

Justin Masterson cruised through the first three innings then imploded. Masterson gave up two runs in the fourth, three runs in the fifth and then finally was tagged for five runs in the sixth for a total of 10 runs in 5 2/3rds innings. Not that it really mattered. I’m going to continue to do this but I’m also going to try and work back in some of the other sports related stuff that I was initially posting. With that in mind here’s the newest edition of Baseball Card...

7/28 Game Recap: Indians 3 - Twins 12

Player of the Game Carlos Santana snagged this Player of the Game late with a meaningless two run home run down the left field line. Santana also knocked in the first run of the game for a final Player of the Game score of 5.22. No one else did anything worth mentioning so it was nice of Santana to provide some kind of bright spot. Feathers Up Justin Masterson got the first...
