According to ESPN, the NY Yankees are pondering voiding Jason Giambi's contract due to a clause in his contract that lets his contract be voided if it is determined he used illegal performance-enhancing drugs after he signed his contract, in 2001. It's brought up because of his critical comments on how the MLB is dealing with their steroid issue this week

As it was already mentioned here on The Fanhouse, the Yankees are looking into the statements made by Jason Giambi surrounding his steroid abuse, and might even void his contract if they find sufficient evidence he used steroids.

For the Yankees, it was an absolutely critical win. Another loss would have swept the Bombers out of Shea, 11.5 games behind the Red Sox and just a half game ahead of the last-place Devil Rays. As it stands, the team still has their work cut out for them.
