It's refreshing to see that Mets prospects get acknowledged, after almost a decade in which the farm was absolutely barren it took a few years for the experts to realize that this wasn't the 2003 Mets minor league system. I've been saying since 2007 that our system has several fine players coming up through the ranks, enough to pull off the Johan Santana and J.J. Putz trades while still having top impact prospects left in the system. Jon Heyman takes a look at the prospects who may impact in the majors this year, the Mets have two players ranked in the list and three others acknowledged. Dan Murphy is ranked #7 and Bobby Parnell #25 along with Nick Evans, Dillion Gee and Michael Antonini were mentioned....7. Daniel Murphy, Mets outfielder.
