Well, it's about time to let go of the past, aka the Northwestern game, and begin the focus on the game against this week's opponents the Akron Zips. As will happen every Tuesday before the game there will be First Thoughts, a blog where I will just give some thoughts about the game.

Looking around I found some of the comments made by head coach Greg Robinson after the loss to Northwestern. You can read the whole thing, but I am going to focus on just a couple of the things he talked about, because they really annoy me.

I will once again begin this blog by saying I played the game of football at a high level and also coached it. That is why I respect the players that go onto the field, no matter the uniforms. I also respect the people who lead the teams, once again no matter what helmet they wear. With that said, I have never, ever heard a coach say the following while talking about mistackling.

ESPN has its second edition of the Bottom Ten, and for the second week in a row, Syracuse is on it. In the pre-season Bottom Ten the Orange came in the ninth place.

It's evening, the television is not giving me much to be happy about, one day from the beginning of the National Football League, but still tonight not much. So, what can a blogger do. Easy find some more of the quotes that head coach Greg Robinson can pull out and try to figure out how much more kool aid he has been drinking.
