By signing Jones to a two-year deal for $36 million, the Los Angeles Dodgers are essentially buying one year of comfort, because Jones - who swung at pitches last year like a drunk blind Mexican swiping at a shape-shifting pinata - will again be playing for his next paycheck in 2009. Hence, he'll be UNcomfortable for half the contract.
