Whoever the new manager of the New York Yankees is, it looks like he will be running a team minus Alex Rodriguez.
SI.com's Jon Heyman is reporting that A-Rod's agent, Scott Boras, has notified the Yankees he will opt out of his current contract. If the Yankees stick to their word, that being that they wouldn't bid for Rodriguez on the free agent market, he's gone.

In the Top of the 8th inning of Game Four of the World Series, Ken Rosenthal of Fox reported that Scott Boras says Alex Rodriguez, The 2007 MLB Clutch Performer of the Year Presented by Pepsi, will opt out of his contract with the New York Yankees, citing concern over the team's ability to contend.

The thoughts of A-ROD becoming an Angel sounds quite interesting, but I'll believe it when I see the report saying that A-ROD officially signed with the Angels for who knows how many years and who knows how much money. I'll just live my life till it actually happens or doesn't happen. I'd be pretty happy if he does sign with the Angels cause it'll really help the offense big time...
