It's great to have baseball back but I tend to forget how nerve racking it can be and it's only the second game of the season.Despite the nail biting fashion in which the Mets won the game, there were some very promising signs during the game. Carlos Delgado appears in the same form he finished last year, Delgado hit a two run bomb and drove in two other runs. Beltran followed him with two hits and two RBIs. Surprisingly the biggest hit of the game came from Brian Schneider who hit a bases clearing double giving him three RBIs for the night. It was clearly a hitters night and when Mike Pelfrey struggled to get out of the first it didn't look like it was going to be a good night but Pelfrey gutted it out and held the Reds scoreless for his last four innings. Every reliever struggled to an extent but the offense built enough of a lead and the pen was good enough to hold off the Reds, at home, as the temp. dropped throughout the night.
