According to a new report in the Star-Telegram, there is growing concern about the medical condition of Ben Sheets in light of some new information that was revealed in his medical reports. Sheets' most recent examination was conducted by Dr. James Andrews, the noted orthopedic specialist and Tommy John surgery guru from Birmingham, Ala. When asked about it Friday, team president Nolan Ryan said he hadn't yet seen Dr. Andrews' reports. Brewers Have Zero Interest In Oliver Perez

Scott Boras is so tired of waiting for a secret team to swoop in and beat the Mets offer on Oliver Perez, that now he is actually fabricating secret teams out of thin air. Tom Haudricourt of the Journal Sentinel, tells us that the latest Oliver Perez to the Brewers rumor is a sham. Jon Heyman had mentioned it last night on MLB's Hot Stove show. When I ran Perez's name by...

Are the Yanks Waiting in the Weeds?

Mets front runners and moving closer- Ollie

Well was that Boras' last attempt to see if he could squeeze anything extra out of the Mets, when Jon Heyman said there were rumblings about the Brewers and Rangers being interested. Those rumblings have been rapidly dispelled and while Heyman isn't completely backing down from that rumor he is ...

That Nagging Feeling

It's only late January, it's already late January. Are you feeling as if K-Rod and the guy whose name is profane in Yiddish maybe aren't the pieces that make us complete? Maybe eight-ten more saves and a few fewer blown games won't get us over the hump?       Now, hold on just a minute, you say. We've added Tim Redding, Freddy...

If not Perez, Should the Mets get Wolf or Garland??

Randy Wolf is treating his 2009 free agency like he had back to back Cy Young award seasons. In November, Wolf turned down a 3 year, $28.5 Million dollar contract from the Astros. It seems that Wolf is waiting for the iron to get hot, again. MLB.com is reporting that he has been in contact with Dodgers, Mets and other clubs. The Mets are waiting for Oliver Perez and if they lose him...

Thank you, Andy Pettitte and Randy Wolf

While it's now believed that Omar Minaya is going to wait Scott Boras out (source Daily News), which scares me because this seems strikingly similar to the Derek Lowe situation. Remember we were the only bidder and could sit back, to wait for them to come to us, only to have a team swoop in to ...
