Who were the winners and losers of the All-Star Game that almost never ended? JD Drew was the MVP, but Tejada and others deserve some credit. How about Dan Uggla's new record?

  • Super Sherrill.

  • GOING HARD
  • hahaha Uggla's new record of most errors in an all- star game!!! What an embarrassment!! I was embarrassed for him once he did it the second time! Maybe he was nervous, since all three times he screwed up were clutch moments that eventually cost the N.L the game. Maybe hes like A-Rod where he cant produce during clutch...
  • Everyone's a winner when man hugs are involved

  • I'm really disappointed the text is hard to read on that...
  • The caption on the ump should read "It's not like I blew ALL the calls" because seriously.. bad calls. Navarro may be fat and slow but he was safe on that play at the plate. Also the JD Drew strikeout where all 3 strikes weren't even close to being in the zone. Lame.
  • Also, Kazmir and Webb should get a ton of credit for how well they played. They both had thrown over 100 pitches on Sunday and come out and both are virtually lights out.
  • Only bad call I saw was that Pujols wasn't out at second when he hit the ball down to right field, he was safe
  • That was another one of the bad calls but the homeplate ump didn't make that one so I didn't mention it.
  • true
  • i dont know watching the replay closely you can see that pujols front leg did slide off the bag, with jeters glove still on that leg before the leg got back on the bag, or the second reached. granted umpires usually don't look at that, just who got there first
  • The worst thing is Dan Ugly's glove. He looks like a retarded bufoon who eats bannanas.
  • Uggla was def the worst player out there last night, 3 errors and 0-whatever at the plate, while hitting into a double play.
  • Also, a good thing was the birth of McLouth...i love that stoner

You Have Failed At Life

So i introduced this new feature a few weeks back, but as of yet haven't highlighted any 'winners' of this yet. That ends today. This weeks title bearer is: Florida Marlin's second baseman Dan Uggla. While putting together a solid season (.286 BA, 23 home runs, 59 RBI's), and being selected to his second all-star game this season, it may be hard to point to Dan...

Dan Uggla sets record for most All-Star errors

Dan Uggla set the record for most errors in an all-star game last night with 3 fielding errors - and he struck out in the top of the 15th when his team needed a hit most.

All Star Game Doesn't Disappoint...Dan Uggla However Does

Great game, Absolutely great game. And I HATE All Star festivities. I hate Exhibition games. Especially one that ended in a tie a few years ago. With that said. Tonight's game was incredible. I was one of the many who thought that the whole "This Time it Counts" A-S Game thing was completely stupid and just a TV Ad ploy. That also may have happened to coincide...

Chase Utley Tells New Yorkers **** You for Booing Him at Home Run Derby

Classic moment at the Home Run Derby introductions tonight. Chase Utley was the second player introduced by Chris Berman of ESPN, following Dan Uggla. I couldn't really hear the crowd noise too clearly, but they must have been booing because it produced a pretty clear response from Utley. Let's go to the [...]

Applause for the Boos

So I was kicking around the idea of trying to go to the All-Star game last week. Yes, I'm a big-time procrastinator but I thought I might have a chance to grab a deal on two tickets from someone with a last minute conflict. This was not the case. Any seat in the stadium was ridiculously expensive. Upper deck seats had a face value of $150 and they were selling for ten times that...

NL back-ups lose to AL back-ups

I missed the first 6 innings, but saw the NL had a lead and thought I might watch the rest just in case they managed to hold onto the lead. History would not be made tonight as the far superior American League beat the National League in a 15-inning snooze-fest. What essentially happened was this: after about 4 innings the best players on each team took a seat on the bench...

2008 MLB All-Star Game: I Am Billy Wagner's Lack of Concern For the Common Man

I would give myself paper cuts while running on hot coals and being raped by a baby kangaroo before enduring another game like the one on which I just wasted FIVE HOURS. Okay, maybe not the kangaroo part. But paper cuts and hot coals? Hell and yes. Every notable moment in this game was designed to frustrate me more than a priest at an elementary school. Curse my unexplainable need...

Create The Caption #246

(Usually) Everyday I'll throw out a photo from the AP or one of the bigger sites and you provide the caption. Hilarity ensues. I'm also adding a handful of links at the bottom of the page that you should check out each day.Yesterday's Winners...."Hey, it's Enrico Palazzo!"- Dan"Uta backa makwa Solo?"- Anon"Costanza is in the building! And...

The Second Half: AL Predictions in 10 Words or Less

Nobody wants to slog through a bunch of stuff they already know along with some hack predictions. So, I figure, why use 10 paragraphs when all we really need about a team is 10 words? If you want to 1,500 rambling words that finally come to what is usually a wrong conclusion, you can go read Bill Simmons or S.A.S. Here, we try to streamline our wrong conclusions to maximize efficiency...

All-Star Wrap-Up Blog-Post

Took me a while to post about the All-Star Game, but it just ended! Yeah, er, anyway...the AL was looking just like the Yanks for a while with all their squandered chances to win. Even Dan Uggla's 3 errors couldn't give them the game, though he obviously tried. He was definitely the Least Valuable Player. When J.D. Drew homered, two emotions came to me simultaneously:...

The American League has Home Field Advantage.

The pre-game was emotional, the game itself was long and strenuous, but when it was all set and done, the American League came out on top with a sacrifice fly by Michael Young that plated Home Run derby "Winner" Justin Morneau. The 15 inning, 4 hour and 50 minute affair almost led to another embarrasment. Both squads were running out of pitchers and it almost came to...

Home Run Derby

Great Home Run Derby last night after it all Morneau is the champion. Thought he didn't win the entire crowd was behind Josh Hamilton. I personally thought that Fat Elvis (Lance Berkman) or Dan Uggla would win. That tricky Canadian came out of no where. Personally I am glad A-Rod was not in it. Josh Hamilton took so long to hit A-Rod would have the opportunity to have a few more affairs.

Red Sox News

The Boston Red Sox had 7 players on the All-Star roster and a few of them made more than a few headlines over the past few days - including last night...
