Fredi Speaks: Gregg is Still our Guy
Good news coming out of the managers office this morning. Fredi Gonzalez, on the heels of the Armando Benitez deal, has announced that Kevin Gregg is still his closer and will remain in that position for the foreseeable future.
Barry Bonds Stats Mirrored Steroid Cycles in 2001 and 2002
Analysis published in The Cheater's Guide To Baseball indicates that Bonds' performance was affected by his cyclying on and off steroids. In 2002 Bonds slugging percentage was 345 points higher during hypothetical "on" times and his stats followed the pattern over the whole season. They didn't follow such a pattern in 1997 or 1998.

Fortunately for Barry, he did not struggle like Snipes. All he did was win the MVP his first season and help the G-Men win 100 games. Interesting article though...

A-Rod Finds Ally In Bonds
Yesterday, reporters asked Barry Bonds whether he felt Alex Rodriguez's vocal turn around third Wednesday night was a "dirty" or "bush" play. "Go ask Alex. Leave me out of it," the slugger replied in typical brusque fashion. When told that the Blue Jays were fuming over the play, Bonds replied, "Too bad. Get over it."
I guess you could...
