When asked if he would be ready if the Yankees called on him for some relief work tomorrow or Monday, A.J. Burnett told Marc Carig, "If needed, yeah, I'll be ready."He also had this to say, via Chad Jennings, “They didn’t tell me tomorrow or whenever, but if needed, I’ll be ready,” Burnett said. “Whatever it takes. I just want to get the ball again.”We already saw how good Jered Weaver was coming out of the pen for the Angels, so it will be interesting to see how Burnett does in the same role. When you consider the struggles of Hughes and Joba, the chance we may see Burnett in one of these two games becomes greater. If he had his good stuff there's no reason why he wouldn't be successful.
