Toronto who?It appears that after the Boston Red Sox swept the then AL East first place Toronto Blue Jays a week ago, they have imploded. The Blue Jays are 0-9 in their last nine games and were swept by the Sox, Atlanta Braves, and the last place Baltimore Orioles. Is the Canadian reign over? After being hyped up without facing the also dying Tampa Bay Rays, Toronto is not appearing to be a quality AL East contender anymore. However the Red Sox for some reason always seem to not do well up at the Rogers Centre.Tonight it's knuckleballer Tim Wakefield facing Casey Janssen on the pitcher's mound.Keeping you posted folks.

Finally...FINALLY the losing streak is over

It ended the same way it started, a kind of mixed up deja vu or break in the time continuum.  After losing nine straight, the Jays faced Boston at home on Friday night, up against the pitcher and team who started the losing streak.  There have been some analysts who have tried to justify the streak by saying Tim Wakefield's knuckleballs threw the bats off course.  I think this...

Bard Strikes Out 5 Straight

I thought I would have a positive headline for this post, because there wasn't much else to jump through hoops about north of the border last night.Tim Wakefield had "the bad inning" last night and it was the fifth, allowing five runs, and that's all the Toronto Blue Jays needed to end their nine-game losing streak, 6-3. Even before the bad fifth, it wasn't...

Bad karmah for Lestah?

Forget about Jonathan Papelbon Boston Red Sox fans. What is up with Jon Lester? After a masterful 2008 season, the southpaw has given up at least five runs in six of his season total 10 outings. His best performance was back on April 19 facing Baltimore, pitching seven innings deep, allowing only four hits, no runs, and nine strikeouts.Last year he was the most consistent pitcher all...

The Great Rivalry - Pettitte Keeps Rolling

The talk in the offseason was all about C.C. Sabathia and A.J. Burnett and how they would reinvent the New York Yankees starting rotation. Andy Pettitte? Well he was an afterthought. That afterthought has again shown that he is a winner and a steady member of the rotation that eats innings and wins games. Pettitte is still one of the important ingredients for this team.At 36 (he...
