Stiles Points:
Philadelphia vs. Los AngelesThese two meet again...last season the Phillies beat the Dodgers in five games...however, there biggest difference between the two teams, the Dodgers have the home field advantage this time...During the regular season, Los Angeles took the season series 4-3 from the Phillies...they last matched up in June, so some things have changed, especially with the Phillies getting Cliff Lee...statistically, the Dodgers have the better numbers as they have a .270 team batting average and 3.41 ERA...the Phillies come in with a .258 team average and 4.16 ERA...I am not getting into a breakdown of each position...somehow the Dodgers keep winning despite having a scrappy starting rotation...Randy Wolf as your Game 1 starter???...To me, the Phillies do not have the luxury of a hot Cole Hamels and Brad Lidge...last season both pitchers were "in the zone" and just dominated opponents...I don't see that from either pitcher...Hamels could be beaten and we all know that Lidge...

With Cole's Little Boy Healthy, Hamels is Focused On Dodgers
It's hard to really rip into Cole Hamels for his lackluster showing in the NLDS this year. The birth of your first child surely has to weigh on any guy, Cole not excluded. It's encouraging to hear him say "now I can really focus on baseball, not that I wasn't focused to begin with." We know what you mean.View more news videos at: http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com...
NLCS Game 1 Recap: Phillies 8, Dodgers 6
What happened?
The Phillies used the long ball to back a shaky start from Cole Hamels, as Brad Lidge saves his third straight postseason game in the win.
Who did what?
Cole Hamels (W, 1-0) allowed four runs on eight hits in five and a third. He walked one and struck out four.
Ryan Howard went 1 for 3 [...]
Cole Hamels Drives A Camaro, Is A Good Actor
Here's a fun local Chevrolet commercial starring Phillies pitcher Cole Hammels where he openly admit to owning a Camaro. And to not being able to act his way out of a wet nutsack. That, or they shot him full of painkillers to make the Camaro admission.
Does Cliff Lee have a chance at replicating Hamels' 2008 run?
Cole Hamels(notes) gets the nod in tonight's NLCS Game 1, but the truth is that the reigning NLCS and World Series MVP is far from being the Phillies' current ace. So who's currently starring for Philadelphia in the role of Cole Hamels? Why, fellow lefty Cliff Lee(notes), of course. Actually, if you compare the numbers of the Hamels from '08 postseason to the '...
Phils win, but Hamels’ display disappoints
Cole Hamels may have come away with the win tonight but his behavior after Chase Utley’s 5th-inning throwing error was disturbing.
After Utley failed to complete a double play Chase threw his arms up in the air and stared in Utley’s direction. Not extremely demonstrative and I can understand his frustration, but you do not show [...]
Offsides: The Phillies Crash LA's Party
Joe Torre was trying to politely inform Randy Wolf that his spot in the rotation would be skipped so Clayton Kershaw would start Game One, but Charlie Manuel just had to bust up their meeting. (For more on the NLCS, check out previews by Ryan Fagan and Dan Levy.)
2009 NLCS Preview: Phillies vs. Dodgers
Larry Bowa, Jim Thome, Randy Wolf, Vicente Padilla in the NLCS. That's what Phillies fans were thinking about and hoping for in 2003. Well, it finally happened, but as we know, it happened with the Dodgers, who now face the Phillies in a re-match of last years NLCS.
Make no mistake about it, this a better, more experienced Dodger team than we faced last year, and this will...
NLCS Game 1 Thread vs. Fillies, 5p
The playoff beards of Clayton Kershaw.
Cole Hamels (0-0, -.--) vs. Clayton Kershaw (0-0, -.--).
Hey, they reset pitching stats after each round. Who knew? Anyhoo, it's time to put aside Dodger Divorce Thoughts and refocus on the here and now: 21-year-old Kershaw, who in two years has gone from callow rookie fireballer to grizzled (see above) NLCS Game 1 starter. Kershaw...
