Ramon Castro was removed from today's game, it was revealed after the game that Castro was pulled due to tightness in his quad.Acting Mgr. Sandy Alomar Sr. stated that Castro was removed for precautionary purposes and should be available tomorrow as a pinch hitter or in a switch situation. Despite the team down playing the extent of Castro's injury, as a fan you have to be concerned because every time Castro is used as a regular he gets hurt.Whether you think Manuel is a personnel genius or over meddlesome, playing dangerous games, there's no denying since he pulled Castro for Santos in a ninth inning bases loaded situation Castro has been on fire. Castro is currently hitting .292 with a Slg. pct of .479 in 16 games.... Mets manager Jerry Manuel was suspended one game and fined an undisclosed amount for “his aggressive arguing and inappropriate contact” with umpire Bill Welke during Thursday’s game against the Phillies.
Manuel will serve his suspension Saturday afternoon against the Pirates.
Bench coach Sandy Alomar, will manage today’s game.

It seems like things could get very interesting in regards to the Mets catching situation.I didn't hear it myself but there are several reports that Gary Cohen, stated on TV today, that Brian Schneider isn't close to returning. However, other reports state that he will catch at Port St. Lucie in extended spring training, this up coming week.This is the second year in a row...
