Found June 25, 2007 on Cubs Hub:
Talks of Jacque Jones leaving Chicago are on fire of late. It's been no secret the Cubs have had Jones in the front of the garage sale with a "Best Offer Accepted" tag around his neck. The 32 year old lefty outfielder is coming off his best year since 2002, still he's found himself in Lou's doghouse. And it's evident by now that if you are NOT with Lou then you are out of here.

He can still play, and he is probably worth good young talent if he is sent to the right organization.
  • I'm hoping a Jones trade means a triumphant return of Matt Murton to the big club. Any guesses as to the chances of that?

I'm not so sure about Murton coming back up if Jones is sent off. He was sent to AAA to get at-bats, and I'm not sure if Jones get's dealt, that Murton would really get that many more at-bats. I really like Murton, and it sounds like Lou does too...just a matter of finding the space for him right now and doing what's best for the team.

A Jones trade would NOT signal a return of the very deserving Murton. It would likely signal more time for Pagan whom Piniella has a penchant for.

LETTIM GO, HE'D BE BETTER OFF SOMEWHERE ELSE ANYWAY. SHOULD'VE NEVER GONE TO CHICAGO. HE'S BETTER AROUND LIKE PLAYERS. HE'S NOT THE STAR , BETER AS A ROLE PLAYER
