Coco Crisp had the suspension for his role in the Rays/Red Sox scuffle reduced to 5 games today. It was originally set at 7. He'll begin his sentence on Saturday and will miss the next series in Tampa Bay. This is probably a good thing because with him not being there, tempers will be given a chance to cool down a bit. No reason to have things get heated all over again and risk more suspensions in the middle of a pennant race.

Boston Red Sox Halfway Report - 2008

We officially reached the halfway point in the season the other day with a win over the Diamondbacks. I thought about doing some sort of a report card for performances but I figured why bother when the Globe and the Herald will probably do the same thing anyway. Instead I'll just give a few of my observations and some information about the team throughout the first half of the year.

A few months ago, I signed sports artist Alvin Fall as my second client. While I always aspired to be a sports agent, owning AccessAthletes has taken me in a much different direction. I can honestly say that I never expected to represent sports artists, but I am grateful for the opportunity to do so. It has been a very rewarding, yet challenging experience working in this niche...

Devil Rays Minor Leaguer Suspicious Of Pranking

I don't normally write about our Devil Rays minor leaguers, but in honor of this weekend's series in Pittsburgh I am making an exception. Three pieces of good news down on the farm, and one pretty funny story: This year's #1 overall pick and supporter of the full, true Devil Rays name, Tim Beckham made his pro [...]

Tampa Bay Rays Are World Champions!

Boston and Chicago are knocked off their high perches as wild card Tampa Bay storms in for 7-game victories against the Red Sox, then against the Cubs in the World Series. The Rays are only a half-game back in the toughest division, and have played the toughest schedule in baseball. Tampa certainly earned their championship.Major League Baseball Playoff PredictionAmerican League...

Flashback Humor: Marlins

In honor of them sweeping the Rays (and because they are the next team alphabetically), this week I present minor league cards of the Marlins.  The Marlins were another hard team for this project.  There just weren't a lot of Marlins cards and they mostly had me going, "…who?"  But I picked a few out [...]
