Closer Billy Wagner long tossed but still is experiencing pain and Omar Minaya doesn't believe the Mets will be making a deal before the post season roster deadline ( Aug. 31 ) but there's still a slight chance they could make something happen. For example the Reds spent alot of money on their bullpen and now that their not in the pennant race they may look for salary relief. It's been rumored that David Weather has already cleared waivers and Jeremy Affledt along with closer Francisco Cordero could also make it through waivers. The Cincinnati Enquirer believes that the Mets could make a good trade partner for the Mets.......The New York Mets are in need of bullpen help. They had 22 blown saves entering Wednesday.Could the Reds be a trading partner? The Reds have three good relievers who probably would pass through the waivers - David Weathers, Jeremy Affeldt and Cordero. There was a report that Weathers already has passed waivers.
