Rich Harden pitched well enough, but the Cub offense gave him a
As it sailed by for strikes.
One more nugget of info gleaned from tonight’s game: Aaron Miles is completely worthless. And the two-faced, fuckwad fans that give Hendry tons of **** over Soriano and Bradley and stay mum about the complete pile of suck and shame that is Aaron Miles need to take stock of their lives. As for you, Aaron, there’s a used car lot somewhere in the lower third of these United States that needs a salesman.
Go find it.
Despite Miles’ and the rest of the offenses’ best efforts, the Cubs remain in first place, albeit via a tie. So, they’ve got that going for them, which is good.
Off day tomorrow. My liver is grateful.

Rich Harden (7-6, 4.50 ERA) vs. Justin Lehr (0-0, 5.40 ERA)Story-linesIn the shadow of a surging Cardinals team, the Cubs are poised to sweep another team on the road -- this time being the Reds, in what is surely Dusty Baker's swan song as a major league manager.

UUUGGGGHHHH!!! Aaron Miles Returns.
In a craptastic roster move that took place this afternoon, the Cubs have sent Jeff Stevens back to Iowa to work on his schtuff.
Taking his place?
Aaron Bleeping Miles.
WHHHHYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This move upsets me for two reasons. First, why Stevens instead of Samardzija? The Cubs are seriously mishandling the Shark, and it's annoying. Consider his bullpen appearances thus...

Aaron Miles: A Case Study in Terrible Baseball
What do you call a guy hitting under .200 with zero home runs and four RBI in after playing just 47 games in the baseball season's first four months?
Jim Hendry would call him a millionaire.
He should call him unemployed.

Roster Moves into October
The Cubs have lately been playing extremely well as of late and find themselves in an unusual (for 2009 at least) predicament. With several key players soon to return from trips to the DL, Lou and Jim will have to decide who to demote and what the roster will look like going into September, when it can expand to 40.
We'll do this two ways -- the way I'd do it, and the way...
Chicago Cubs: Talent Evaluation Nowhere to Be Found
Many writers, both of the professional variety and those of us that really care on sites like Bleacher Report, have put words on paper to release some of our frustration with the winter plan Chicago Cubs' General Manager Jim Hendry put into action before the current season.
I'd like to take a moment to examine two players, one on the Cubs and one playing elsewhere, to ...
