The Cubs announced the latest round of roster moves before Sunday's game against the Tribe. Kevin Hart and Randy Wells were optioned to Triple-A Iowa and So Taguchi was reassigned to Minor League camp. Mark Johnson, Esteban German and Andres Blanco were also re-assigned to minor league camp.

Mark Pawelek was released today by the organization. The Cubs drafted him in the 1st round in 2005 out of some high school in Utah. Never a good move, in my opinion, to draft somebody from a school where there is little or no talent. Why not select some dude from Anchorage High? Anyway, a week ago the Cubs released 2003 1st round pick Ryan Harvey. I wouldn’t be too surprised...

So Taguchi was released by the St. Louis Cardinals last Wednesday, marking the end of his six year career with the Cardinals. During his time in St. Louis, So was a fan favorite, as well as a personal favorite of mine.
