After a two hour and thirty-two minute rain delay, Thursday night's game between the Cubs and Pirates was cancelled due to inclement weather. With the Cubs down 3-0 in the top of the fourth, Ryan Doumit stepped to the plate to begin the inning. Jeff Samardzija got ahead in the count 1-2 then the rains came. Two pitches later, the game was halted with a 2-2 count on Ryan Doumit. The Pirates jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning after a RBI single by Garrett Jones plated Andy LaRoche ... who had doubled with one out. Lastings Milledge followed with a wind-blown homer to left, a two-run shot that gave the Pirates a 3-0 lead. The Cubs put runners on base in the first three innings but hit into inning ending double plays in the second and third. For the second season in a row the Cubs will play a 161-game schedule.

Free Agent at the End of the Season: Rich Harden

Over the course of his career, Rich Harden has been a maddeningly frustrating pitcher. At times, Harden looks like the best pitcher on the planet because he has the stuff to be one of the most dominating pitchers in baseball. But every year it seems as though Harden's progression is set back by injuries. Since 2005, Harden has spent ample time every year on the DL and and a result...
