No, just another asshole mets fan...and a ginger pie to boot. apparently, this guy was taken down by one of philly's finest who unleashed a john wayne style haymaker on this no good, out of town, turnpike ridin' piece of trash. one lucky thing for this beat-off is that the phils don't play in the Vet anymore...he would have been thrown in the cooling tank down in the bowels of the stadium and faced a hard-nosed no nonsense philly judge right there in an in-stadium arraignment. god i love philly.

Mike Pelfrey Retarded?

So Pelfrey wears that mouthpiece so he doesn't gnaw off his tongue during the game. Don't believe me? Picture evidence... So why does Pelfrey have macroglossia (large tongue)? Trisomy 21? Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome?

Delgado's Bat, Former Standout, Dies at 16

To Whom It May Concern: It is with our deepest sympathy that we regret to inform you of the death of an important member of your organization. Late yesterday afternoon, after a long and arduous battle against its illness, Carlos Delgado's bat died at a hospital on Chicago's North Side...

Phillies Kool-Aid is Delicious!!!

Pat Burrell and Chase Utley are dominating the National League. The two have combined for 30 runs, 52 hits in 145 at bats (.359 batting average), 12 doubles, 16 homeruns, 37 rbi, 2 stolen bases (all Utley there), 23 walks, and an averaged OPS of 1.236. Go around the rest of the Majors and it's doubtful that any other tandem can stack up numbers that compare to these two. Since...

If you missed Lenny Dykstra on HBO Real Sports, it's playing again on HBO On Demand. It was a great segment. If you haven't heard of it, Lenny Dykstra has become a financial guru and is killing it in the market. Check out this segment.

The Evan Longoria Extension: Taking the Trend to the Next Level

Simply put, I wanted to go on the record and state that the Evan Longoria extension was absolutely brilliant. The terms are for six guaranteed years at $17.5 million, plus a one-year option for 2014 and a two-year option for 2015-16, which could raise the total value to nine-years and $44 million, securing the third baseman through his age 30 season. In doing so, the Rays no longer...

The Phaithful's 20 Game Report Card for the Phillies

Today's game was the twentieth of season for the Phillies, which seem like a nice time to write up our first Phillies report card. The concept is quite simple; I'm going to give a letter grade to each man on the team. I am grading not just on a player's performance, but also on a curve based on my expectations for that player going in and that player's importance...

Not a Feliz ending

The Mets missed a great opportunity last night.

Utley powers Phillies past Mets; Rollins DL'd

A couple of Phils notes after a busy weekend in Philly sports: *Phils avoid sweep: Thanks to Chase Utley's bat and some timely fielding by Eric Bruntlett, the Phillies manged to beat the Mets 5-4 yesterday to avoid getting swept. Utley hit two homers, driving in four runs with two swings of the bat. I am getting increasingly worried with the Phillies reliance on hitting...

Assume The Position...

apparently, we've got TBA starting in kendrick's spot this coming saturday against the pirates. who could ol' charlie be giving a shot at the rotation?

Come ride the Aaron Heilman Coaster!

A photographic representation of Aaron Heilman's season so far.

High Fives for #5

You're my boy Burrell, you're my boy! Pat Burrell and Chase Utley continue to see-saw back and forth between MVP of the NL. I know it's premature to start pontificating about postseason accolades, but these two are having phenomenal Aprils and that cannot be overstated. Last night The Bat plated So Taguchi, Utley, and Ryan Howard in the top of the 9th to secure the lead...

Now opening, the Carlos Delgado Ability Coaster!

It's right next to the Aaron Heilman Coaster, so you can ride both in one day.

No comeback this time: Phillies fall to Brewers

The National League leader in come-from-behind wins, the Phillies, failed to execute a ninth inning rally and fell to the Brewers 5-4. The Brewers were powered by recent vegetarian Prince Fielder's two home runs and 4 RBI's. Seems that a lack of meat hasn't taken anything away from his power. The Phillies almost looked like they might pull out another late victory when...

Phillies over .500 after sweep of Rockies

The Phillies overcame a poor start by Brett Myers to pull out their second come-from-behind win over the Rockies in as many days, winning 8-6. Myers gave up 6 runs in 7 innings and left the game with the Phillies trailing 6-4. The offense then pulled out the win, with Pat Burrell being the hero following a bases loaded double in the top of the 9th inning that put the Phillies ahead...

Prince Fielder slaughters baby cow; proceeds to hit two home runs

Okay, I kid because I care. Prince Fielder harmed no livestock on Wednesday evening but he did have his first multi-homer game of the season to give the Brewers a 5-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. Both homers were two-run shots. The first came in the bottom of the first to help get the Brewers out to a 3-0 lead over Cole Hamels. The second came in the bottom of the eighth again...
