Details of Bartolo Colon contract
The Boston Herald released details of the minor league contract that Bartolo Colon recently signed with the Boston Red Sox. The deal calls for Colon to make $18,000 / month while at AAA Pawtucket. If he makes the major league team he will earn a guaranteed base salary of $1.25 million. If he can make 30 starts the deal could earn him almost $5.75 million in incentives, big IF considering his injury history.
I hate to say this, but it is not a bad signing for the Red Sox in all but one way, ill get to that later in this post.
