Found April 25, 2007 on Mop Up Duty:
Jays' first baseman Lyle Overbay has got himself into a little controversy with Alex Cora. Here's why. Cora was flipped over by Overbay on a double-play that ended the eighth inning of a 5-3 Red Sox's win at the Rogers Centre a week ago tomorrow. Overbay slid out of the baseline with his arms raised to break up the double play and Cora had to be restrained by teammate Dustin Pedroia.

Manny Needs to Tuck in His Pocket

Manny's days of being Manny will likely never end, but you better expect his days of being an Untucked Pocket Guy are about to end. Especially if someone like Bradford were to jump on the issue.

Painted Sock?

If you haven't heard during Wednesday night's Orioles – Red Sox game Gary Thorn, the O's announcer, claimed that the Red Sox backup catcher told him that the famed bloody sock was in fact a fake. The entire stunt conjured up as a PR scam to help feed the unsatisfied ego of Kurt Schilling.

Bottom Line: Jed Lowrie should remain the starting short-stop

Zero. That's the number of errors Jed Lowrie has made in a Red Sox uniform. That factoid alone should cement Lowrie at short stop for the rest of the season, but Julio Lugo (who still leads the AL with 16 errors despite not playing since July 11th) has been lurking in the training pool like a $36 million dollar shark looking to reclaim his territory. Tito says Lugo still...
