The Orioles won 10-6 today against the Cardinals in Jupiter; however, a recurring theme once again haunted Baltimore -- obviously, the pitching. Well, the offense bailed starting pitcher AdamEaton out as the Orioles scored twice in the fourth inning, and four times in the fifth. Adam Jones hit a long two run homer to start the rally; thereafter, in the fifth inning, Nick Markakis had a two-run double and then scored on a wild pitch. Aubrey Huff drove in a run in the fifth, Oscar Salazar drove had an RBI in the sixth, and to cap it off, Melvin Mora hit a homer in the eighth inning. Meanwhile, the story of the day was Eaton. If you have not had a chance to go out and see the Orioles -- do so. I went out the Yard last night and it was a good night to be a fan.
So we are only into the first weeks of the season, and it would be silly to assume that we'll finish as winners and start printing out playoff tickets; however, the Orioles are playing inspired baseball and this is a team to rally around...

Well, we all know how the Orioles did last night -- very splendid! There's not much need to regurgitate what happened up in the Bronx, but there are a few questions I have in mind.
One is Daniel Cabrera for real? I think he may have finally turned the corner after many years of struggles and unfulfilled promise.
However, two good months does not underscore four years worth...

Although the Orioles lost 2-1 to the Mets last night, they got a nice little surprise from Alfredo Simon, who started the game last night for Baltimore. I guess it is safe to assume -- at least from what I have seen -- that Simon will make the rotation, presumably as the fifth starter. Simon -- who is actively looking to make the rotation out of Spring Training -- was impressive...
