The Orioles won 10-6 today against the Cardinals in Jupiter; however, a recurring theme once again haunted Baltimore -- obviously, the pitching. Well, the offense bailed starting pitcher AdamEaton out as the Orioles scored twice in the fourth inning, and four times in the fifth. Adam Jones hit a long two run homer to start the rally; thereafter, in the fifth inning, Nick Markakis had a two-run double and then scored on a wild pitch. Aubrey Huff drove in a run in the fifth, Oscar Salazar drove had an RBI in the sixth, and to cap it off, Melvin Mora hit a homer in the eighth inning. Meanwhile, the story of the day was Eaton. He's trying to make the rotation out of Spring Training, but the results have not looked good so far, and if you need to know how bad he's been, read this from the Orioles.com:>>> Read More

O???s Not Showin??? Nicky Mark The Money

Nick Markakis had his contract renewed by the Birds the other day, after negotiations for a long-term deal apparently reached a standstill. The renewal comes with a $55,000 raise, and Nick will make $455,000 this season (it seems strange to discuss professional athletes??? salaries in the thousands,...

Photo Gallery: New York Yankees vs. Baltimore Orioles; April 19th, 2008; O's Trash Yankees, 8-2

If you have not had a chance to go out and see the Orioles -- do so. I went out the Yard last night and it was a good night to be a fan. So we are only into the first weeks of the season, and it would be silly to assume that we'll finish as winners and start printing out playoff tickets; however, the Orioles are playing inspired baseball and this is a team to rally around...

Aubrey Huff Remembers A Lost Friend...

Aubrey Huff honestly had a perilous 2007, as he had his worst year career wise and as well caused a ruckus amongst Oriole fans and threw mud on the organization by his stuny of the "Bubba The Love Sponge Show in the off-season.However, this year he's looking to not only improve, but also honor the me...

About Last Night: Has D-Cab Turned the Corner & LaTroy Hawkins Is a Punk...

Well, we all know how the Orioles did last night -- very splendid! There's not much need to regurgitate what happened up in the Bronx, but there are a few questions I have in mind. One is Daniel Cabrera for real? I think he may have finally turned the corner after many years of struggles and unfulfilled promise. However, two good months does not underscore four years worth...

Jones and Bedard, redux

You haven't seen the last of Adam Jones in Seattle.

Adam Jones Involved In Hotel Incident

It didn't take long for Adam "Pacman" Jones to get involved in an off-field incident once getting cleared to play football again in the NFL.A The Dallas Morning News printed confirmed reports of he and one of his bodyguards getting into an altercation outside his hotel room on Tuesday night. The still-unnamed bodyguard refused to press charges and there apparently...

Jones is in Baltimore, but Bedard still at home

As reported last night, Adam Jones is in Baltimore today, and now the clock is ticking again on just when the Mariners and the Orioles will officially announce that Seattle is trading Jones and four others for Baltimore left-hander Erik Bedard.

Bedard in trouble, according to Tim Brown

About seven weeks ago, the Mariners dropped five players for Erik Bedard. The trade cost the team more than just the five players. Fans lost their favorite “kid,” outfielder Adam Jones, as well as a setup reliever, George Sherrill (who, according to Brown, will be the Baltimore Orioles' c...

Huff makes Fort Worth proud

Josh Rupe gave up two runs in the eighth as the Rangers are now behind 8-1. Aubrey Huff, from Fort Worth Brewer, has had a big day. He's tied a career-high for hits with four and has four RBIs. If you're in the ballpark, there are some good seats in the lower bowl now that many fans have left to be...

Simon Impresses, but O's Lose; AL East Thoughts into '09

Although the Orioles lost 2-1 to the Mets last night, they got a nice little surprise from Alfredo Simon, who started the game last night for Baltimore. I guess it is safe to assume -- at least from what I have seen -- that Simon will make the rotation, presumably as the fifth starter. Simon -- who is actively looking to make the rotation out of Spring Training -- was impressive...

A Series of Inconvenient Events

The Erik Bedard/Adam Jones trade rumors between the Seattle Mariners and Baltimore Orioles could give anyone a headache. We were confused. We know you were confused. Read this, AND I PROMISE IT WILL ALL MAKE SENSE!

O's Rebuild Official After Bedard Trade

Friday's trade of Erik Bedard to Seattle (after weeks of rumors) cements the fact that the O's are really tearing down their ineffective formula and starting from scratch. Unfortunately, they're still stuck with too many pieces from the former era -- including Aubrey Huff, Ramon Hernandez, Jay Payton...
