The Official LA Galaxy Myspace:
Let's see Pat Gilick, you have a 40 man roster, three levels of minor leagues (not counting rookie A ball teams), and a fan favorite player in AA Reading who hit over .300 last year for the big club. Yet, we the Philadelphia Phillies fans get to read our local paper's transaction wire to see that we re-acquired Jose Mesa with an open roster spot? What is wrong here? No Chris Coste for a bench that continues to lack guys who can do multiple things (Coste plays C, 1B, 3B, and OF)?
Mesa, whose real age is actually a mystery (somewhere between 41-47), and his lofty 12.00 ERA, was waived by the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers biggest problem this year in duplicating last years success, has been their horrible bullpen. So naturally we sign him to help out ours?
