It was reported last week that Nick Evans was slumping in Buffalo (AAA) and might be sent down to Binghamton (AA). The Mets have decided that his slump is so prevalent that he's going all the way down to Port St. Lucie. Evans is hitting .093 and the Mets have decided to send him down to work with the instructional staff in Florida. Yesterday I wrote about the rumors that Nick Evans would be demoted after a horrific start at AAA Buffalo. Late yesterday the shoe dropped as Evans was sent to the Mets minor league complex in St. Lucie for a few days of extended spring training before heading to AA Binghamton.
