Farnsworth Not Long for Pinstripes

Yankee reliever Kyle Farnsworth went on a Chicago radio station yesterday and voiced displeasure of Clemens' family clause. Today he didn't back down from those comments:

The Yankees continue to lose and currently they sit 9 1/2 games behind the surging Red Sox, but apparently that hasn't stopped them from having plenty of free time to shoot out some interesting quotes to the media.

A lot of people have been talking about the return of Roger Clemens and how he doesn't have to be around when he's not pitching. The way I see it, if he's not the best pitcher of all time he's certainly one of the best so if anyone has earned the role of part time guy he's done it. I guess it doesn't surprise me completely that someone on the New York Yankees has spoken out against the Roger Clemens 'family plan,' which gives him the right to come and go as he pleases between starts. It surprises me that the criticism comes from Kyle Farnsworth, who would be better served by keeping his mouth shut and getting hitters out.

The New York Yankees seem to have their pitching straightened out. Chien Ming-Wang and Mike Mussina are back from injuries. Matt DeSalvo and Darrell Rasner look capable. Roger Clemens will arrive soon, and Phil Hughes will be healthy again in a few weeks. The Yankees, though, seem to have another problem. The Rangers and Hicks still are paying a lot of Arod's salary for the remainder of his contract. With Arod having the opportunity to buy out his contract at the conclusion of the season, wouldn't it behoove Hicks to offer up Arod a certain percentage of what they owe him so he breaks the contract? Is that legal? Any lawyers in the house?

Plenty of great baseball action today as interleague play is back. Today I look at game 2 in the "Subway Series" and the rematch of last falls World Series match-up. Last time out on Thursday I went 3-1, cutting my previous few days losing streak down before it could pick up steam. Now we are trucking along in a positive direction, you'd be wise to get on the train before it leaves the station.
