TEAMS: Kansas City Royals, New York Yankees
According to Ken Rosenthal, the Royals may pursue free agent reliever Kyle Farnsworth. Farnsworth, who is from Wichita, is the type of reliever the Royals need. They traded away Leo Nunez and Ramon Ramirez, and need to bring in a setup man to bridge the gap between the middle innings and Joakim Soria. Farnsworth was 2-3 with a 4.48 ERA in 61 games for for the Tigers and Yankees, and may be intrigued by a playing for a rising team in the same division. Not only that, but Royals pitching coach Bob McClure has had success with hard throwing relievers, making Kansas City a serious possibility for Farnsworth.A Farnsworth, 32, is looking at a three year deal worth 5-7 million dollars annually.A

Ramon Ramirez through Pitch F/X in 2008
Ramon Ramirez had some good success in his month long stint with the Reds as he posted a 2.67 ERA in 27 innings over a 5 game stretch including 4 starts. He struck out 21 batters and walked 11. Lets take a quick look at the movement and types of pitches he threw last season [...]
Daryl Thompson To Louisville?
With Justin Lehr gone to Korea there is now a rotation spot open in Louisville. The Bats already replaced Lehr's roster spot with Ramon Ramirez which is odd considering he spent a lot of last year as a reliever and he's not exactly having a good season this year posting a 4.74 era in 9 games as a starter. Id have to imagine that he's not going to AAA to be a starter so that leaves...
Coco For Ramirez
The Red Sox said good-bye to outfielder Coco Crisp yesterday in a trade for relief pitcher Ramon Ramirez.Ramirez, a 27-year-old righty, was 3-2 in 2008 with a 2.64 ERA in 71 games. He struckout 70 in 71 2/3 innings. Boston desperately needs to bridge the gap between long relief and the ninth ...

Wednesday Whatnot: Coco Crisp, Tecmo Bowl, and Bud Light
It's official. The Kansas City Royals have shipped middle reliever Ramon Ramirez to the Boston Red Sox in exchange for outfielder Coco Crisp. It should be noted that the Royals didn't actually package the pitcher up and put him on a UPS truck. It should also be noted that Crisp's birth name is ...
No Use Crying Over Spilled…..Coco
From the outfield acrobatics to the fidgety, fidgety, fidgety fingers to the fists of fury, this Red Sox guy will miss you, Coco. Even though you went through slumps that the little-league mouth-breathing moron in right field never encountered, I'll miss you. Even though Jacoby "I'm Going to Plow, Plow, Plow Boston to the Ground Over the Next 10 Years" Ellsbury...
The Reds almost traded for Crisp
Straight from Walt Jocketty's mouth via John Fay:"We were close," he said. "I thought we had a shot. Obviously, it didn't happen."I can't make up my mind if Coco Crisp would have been a good addition or not. Rumors of him being a clubhouse cancer, pretty much was the main reason for a the Devil Rays/Boston fight earlier this year, and he makes a lot...
Fantasy Baseball Effects Of Coco Crisp / Royals Trade
The Kansas City Royals - buyers in the off-season? Apparently so. After acquiring Mike Jacobs from the Marlins a couple weeks back, the Royals sent reliever Ramon Ramirez to the Boston Red Sox for outfielder Coco Crisp. If the Royals had pulled off this trade three years ago, it would have been ...
Coco Crisp traded to Kansas City
After Coco Crisp had a bit of a bounce-back season last year, I figured he'd be big time trade bait this offseason. What I didn't expect was for him to be traded to the Kansas City Royals, but that is exactly what is being reported. Here's a quick breakdown of the trade:
Boston: Receives right-handed reliever Ramon Ramirez (2008: 2.64 ERA, 70K and 31 BB in 71.2 IP)
Kansas City...
Ramirez to Diamondbacks?
According to the Boston Globe, Ramon Ramirez could be dealt in another trade to help the Red Sox land a catcher. With that said, the Diamondbacks could be a suitor for Ramirez to help fill the void that was once taken by Juan Cruz, who will likely leave as a free agent. The Diamondbacks have a young, promising catcher in Miguel Montero, and could trade Montero in exchange for Ramirez...
Red Sox Deal Crisp To Royals
According to MLB.com, the Red Sox have traded Coco Crisp to the Royals for pitcher Ramon Ramirez. The Red Sox have been trying to deal Crisp for nearly two seasons now, and land a solid reliever in return. Crisp hit .283 in 118 games for the Red Sox, with 7 HR and 41 RBIs while Ramirez went 3-2 with a 2.64 ERA in 71 games. At this point, the Royals do not have room for him, so they...
Kansas City Royals off Season Report
Season Wrap Up
For many other teams, posting a 75 win season isn't exactly a cause for excitement, but for the first time in a while, the Royals were able to dig themselves out of the bottom spot in the American League Central. They finished fourth, but some improvement is better than none. The good thing for the Royals is that much of their talent that they have accrued over...
