Via Pirates Report, news about one of our former relivers:
Pirates reliever Tyler Yates will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing Tommy John reconstructive surgery on his right elbow.
James Andrews performed the surgery Tuesday in Birmingham, Ala, to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament. Yates had been on the disabled list since May 16 with what had been termed elbow inflammation.
He wasn't the best reliever we had, in fact sometimes he was downright awful, but ...
